Baptist Health Pharmacy Residents at the Forefront of COVID-19 Vaccinations

Today, January 12, is National Pharmacist Day. And for a group of Baptist Health pharmacy residents, the coronavirus pandemic has left an indelible mark on their experience. Virtual interviews, working from home and treating critically-ill patients have all been part of the adjustments to their daily routine.

In the midst of this ever-evolving situation, the pharmacy residents have been making history. As the first doses of COVID-19 vaccines were delivered to Baptist Health for use on frontline healthcare workers, the residents had the opportunity to be involved in the preparation and administration of the vaccine.

The residents will continue to care for the South Florida community as appointments for the general public begin to open up. Baptist Health will be offering the COVID-19 vaccine to members of the community who are 65 years or over or who have certain conditions that put them at high risk of severe illness from the virus.
