Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute’s world-renowned Radiation Oncology team offers a highly advanced radiation treatment called CyberKnife™ therapy. CyberKnife is the first and only comprehensive robotic radiation delivery system to treat benign (noncancerous) and malignant (cancerous) tumors. It’s part of our commitment to offer you the safest, most effective treatments available.
CyberKnife technology delivers high doses of radiation with precise accuracy to the millimeter. We can use it for tumors in virtually any location in your body. And in many cases, you can complete the therapy in as few as one to five treatments.
The CyberKnife system uses sophisticated imaging techniques throughout treatment to track moving tumors continuously in real time. This isn’t always possible with other types of radiation therapy.
By actively tracking tumors that may shift as you breathe, like lung tumors, or those that can move as a result of bladder capacity, like prostate tumors, we ensure that radiation beams are always focused exclusively on your tumor. This precision minimizes the impact on normal, healthy tissue, and the risk for side effects, such as fatigue and nausea, that may be more common with other forms of radiation therapy.
In most cases, you can quickly return to your daily routine after treatment. The radiation doesn’t remain in your body, so it’s safe for others to be around you.

We carefully evaluate your condition to determine if CyberKnife therapy is well-suited for your treatment needs. If it is, you’ll receive the therapy in our state-of-the-art Nurture Treatment Room. The room is named to provide inspiration and hope to all our patients.
