Our Approach to Care

Our Approach to Care

When you come to Lynn Cancer Institute, you can expect a patient-centered approach to your care. Our team of experts work together to design a treatment plan that takes your health goals and needs into consideration. Going through cancer treatment is difficult. So, we’ve made it as easy as possible for you to get the services you need by making all our diagnostic equipment and treatment options available in one place.

Diagnosing Gastrointestinal Cancers

Different types of GI cancers can produce different symptoms. You’ll need tests to pinpoint your exact diagnosis. With all our diagnostic tests under one roof, the process is simple and convenient. And we use your results to suggest the best treatment options for you.

In many cases, an imaging test can help us identify your cancer. We offer a full range of imaging options, including:

We can also use a tissue sample (biopsy) to diagnose you. These tissue samples can come from your tumor or the area around it. To find a personalized treatment for your specific type of tumor, we may conduct molecular testing on your tissue sample.

Our experts use a procedure called endoscopic ultrasound to collect tissue. This minimally invasive procedure gives us a clear view of your digestive tract through a small camera attached to a thin, flexible tube (a catheter).
