A world-renowned cancer surgeon and researcher, Dr. Zinner is quoted in the article, “Making Inroads Against Cancer” by Karen Asp, where she describes how groundbreaking new cancer treatments are improving outcomes for patients and how experts such as Dr. Zinner believe these advances will only get better with time.
In the article, Dr. Zinner stresses how, in addition to advances in screening and early detection, improved treatments are also playing an important role. Citing the benefits offered by new targeted therapies and immunotherapies, he says there’s never been a better time for treating cancers. “The Food and Drug Administration is approving between 10 and 15 new cancer treatments every year,” Dr. Zinner says.
