Your donation will allow Baptist Health to fund promising clinical research and innovative technologies at Miami Neuroscience Institute, so that our patients have the absolute best in neurological care, close to home.
Miami Neuroscience Institute offers innovative and compassionate treatment for neurological conditions affecting the brain, spinal cord and peripheral nervous system. The Institute embraces a multidisciplinary approach to patient care, from non-surgical treatments and minimally invasive procedures to complex brain and spine surgery. Located on the campus of Baptist Hospital of Miami, the Institute's inpatient unit consists of 48 beds, 12 of which are dedicated to caring for acute neuro-progressive care patients. The Institute's team of experienced specialists and clinicians collaborate to treat patients across all other Baptist Health facilities.
In 2024, Baptist Health Foundation received a $50 million gift — the largest in the nearly 65-year history of Baptist Health — in support of Miami Neuroscience Institute. This transformational gift from Kenneth C. Griffin, CEO of Citadel and founder of Griffin Catalyst, will advance neurological care in the region. The donation comes at a critical time, with the incidence of Alzheimer’s and other neurological diseases on the rise.
Mr. Griffin’s support will help fund the expansion of the Institute, including the construction of a new, state-of-the-art center that will house the Institute and comprehensive care for patients on the campus of Baptist Hospital in Miami. The new Kenneth C. Griffin Center at Miami Neuroscience Institute will also help advance research related to neuroscience and neurodegenerative disorders.
Miami Neuroscience Institute is a Joint Commission Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center – the highest level of specialized stroke care. The Institute's Epilepsy Program ranks as a level 4 epilepsy center – the highest level possible – accredited by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers. Additionally, the Intraoperative Monitoring Department received top-tier accreditation from the Neurophysiological Intraoperative Monitoring Laboratory Accreditation Board (LAB-NIOM) of ABRET – the first in Florida, one of 27 in the U.S. and one of only 30 in the world to achieve this accreditation.
Miami Neuroscience Institute will expand its services internationally serving as a stroke program consultant for a hospital in Panama.
