The Pharmacy Postgraduate Year One (PGY1) Residency at West Kendall Baptist Hospital (WKBH) is structured to provide a strong foundation for pharmacy practice in a community teaching hospital environment.

The purpose of the West Kendall Baptist Hospital Pharmacy Residency program is to develop a well-rounded pharmacist competent in providing clinical services as well as drug distribution who can practice confidently in a community hospital or continue to a PGY2 for specialized training.

This PGY1 Pharmacy residency at WKBH is a 52-week program designed to foster professional growth and independence while providing mentorship and supervision. The program aims to enhance residents’ competencies in the provision of clinical services in multiple settings, managing medication-use systems, and optimizing drug therapy. An array of electives and certificate programs are available to tailor the experience for each resident. The Clinical Pharmacy Manager serves as the Residency Program Director. Residency preceptors and mentors are comprised of Clinical Pharmacists and Specialists, Managers, and the Director of Pharmacy.
