    Jessica Unzaga, Pharm.D., BCOP, is the Pharmacy Clinical Manager for Hematology and Stem Cell Transplant at the Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF). She is a South Florida native and a graduate of the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. Dr. Unzaga completed her PGY1 pharmacy residency at the Veterans Affairs Tennessee Valley Healthcare System in Nashville and went on to complete a PGY2 residency in oncology at Methodist University Hospital affiliated with the University of Tennessee in Memphis. After residency she relocated back to South Florida to take on the role of Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the Memorial Cancer Institute at the Memorial Healthcare System where she served many roles including infusion pharmacy operations and decentralized clinical services in Breast Cancer, Medical Oncology, Hematology, and Ambulatory Stem Cell Transplant clinics. Dr. Unzaga joined the BHSF family in 2018 as Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator and leads Clinical Pharmacy Services in Hematology, Stem Cell Transplant, and Cellular Therapy Programs at MCI and Baptist Hospital and collaborates with system leads to ensure the highest level of care and standardized practice for hematology patients throughout the health system. She has a special interest in teaching and education, she serves as a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Florida and Nova Southeastern University Colleges of Pharmacy, and precepts pharmacy students in advanced pharmacy practice experiences in oncology. She has lectured at various colleges including Larkin University, Palm Beach Atlantic University, and the University of Tennessee colleges of pharmacy. She is an active member of ASH, ASTCT, FLASCO, FSHP, HOPA and NCODA. Dr. Unzaga had the honor of receiving the Preceptor of the Year Award for the PGY2 program in 2019 and she is thrilled to be serving as Director of the PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy Residency Program at MCI since 2022.

    Lee Amaya, Pharm.D., BCIDP, AAHIVP is the Infectious Diseases (ID) Pharmacy Specialist in the oncology patient population with a focus in malignant hematology, blood & marrow transplantation (BMT), and cellular therapy at the Miami Cancer Institute (MCI) of Baptist Hospital of Miami (BHM). He grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico and earned a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from the University of New Mexico. He then went on to obtain his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Colorado Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences in 2018. After graduation, he completed his PGY1 pharmacy training at Nebraska Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska and then his PGY2 ID pharmacy residency training at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. His interests include viral infection reactivation, invasive fungal infections, febrile neutropenia, antibiotic allergies, HIV, healthcare informatics, medication safety, and personal development. He serves as the co-chair of the MCI Antimicrobial Stewardship (ASP) Collaborative where he works with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement institutional antimicrobial use guidelines, protocols, and policies. He also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy interns and residents a rotation in Immunocompromised Infectious Diseases.

    Michelle M. Bustamante., Pharm.D., BCPPS, is a Pharmacy Clinical Specialist at the Miami Cancer Institute at Baptist Health South Florida. She obtained her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2010 from the University of Florida, College of Pharmacy. After graduation, she completed a PGY1 with pediatric emphasis at Wolfson Children’s Hospital/Baptist Health, in Jacksonville, Florida, where she also obtained her teaching certificate from the University of Florida. Upon completion of residency, she began her pharmacy career as a Clinical Pharmacist at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital. During her time at JDCH, Dr. Bustamante became a Clinical Specialist in Pediatric Hematology Oncology and also obtained her board certification in pediatric pharmacotherapy. Dr. Bustamante also serves as a mentor to pharmacy students in the mentorship program offered by her alma mater, precepts pharmacy students, as well as PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents.

    Eduardo A. Guizan Corrales, Pharm.D., BCOP is an Inpatient Oncology Clinical Pharmacy Specialist supporting the malignant hematology and hematopoietic stem cell transplant services at the Miami Cancer Institute, Baptist Health South Florida. Eduardo was born in Cuba, but later migrated to the United States and grew up in Miami, Florida. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from The University of North Carolina and obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2019. Dr. Guizan Corrales completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency with Baptist Hospital of Miami and a PGY2 oncology residency with Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Guizan Corrales has an interest in teaching and precepts PGY1 and PGY2 pharmacy residents as well as students for the inpatient malignant hematology and bone marrow transplant learning experiences.     Jorge J. Garcia, Pharm.D., MS, MHA, MBA, FACHE, obtained his Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in 2010. He then transitioned to the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) to pursue an American Society of Health-System Pharmacy (ASHP)-accredited PGY1 and PGY2 Health-System Pharmacy Administration Residency and a Master of Science (MS) in Pharmacy Administration. He also completed a Master of Healthcare Administration (MHA) from Florida Atlantic University (FAU). Dr. García has previously served in the roles of inpatient pharmacy operations coordinator as well as director of pharmacy for system wide oncology pharmacy services.

    Dr. García currently serves as an Assistant Vice President (AVP) at Baptist Health South Florida (BHSF) with responsibility for system-wide acute and ambulatory oncology pharmacy services as well as non-oncology infusion pharmacy services. Dr. García has pioneered pharmacy charge integrity and revenue management in the health-system setting and is a thought leader and national speaker in this area, as well as in the areas of alternative payment models, biosimilars, and value-based oncology care. Dr. García leads advocacy efforts at the national level to promote evaluation of safe and effective use of biosimilars, along with stakeholders’ engagement to support a more sustainable biosimilar pharmacoeconomic model. Dr. García has served as a board member at Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) since 2015 and is also a previous recipient of the FLASCO Above and Beyond Award, which honored his exceptional dedication and innovative contributions to the society. Dr. García also currently holds multiple committee appoints at the Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC), including the Oncology Pharmacy Education Network (OPEN) and the National Biosimilar Taskforce. In 2020, Dr. García was also appointed to the Board of Trustees at ACCC. In addition, Dr. García currently serves as faculty for the ASHP Foundation Pharmacy Leadership Academy (PLA). Dr. García is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE).

    Lela Hall, Pharm.D., BCOP is an Oncology Clinical Specialist with experience in hematology, oncology and stem cell transplant. Lela received her BS in Biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 2000. Following undergraduate, Lela worked as a Cardiovascular-Neuroscience Research Specialist at the Dalton Cardiovascular Research Center. She later worked as an Education Coordinator and Branch Manager for Heartland Lions Eye Banks, working in tissue and solid organ transplant. Lela went on to receive her Pharm.D. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2014, followed by a PGY1 Residency at the Southern Arizona Veterans Health Care System (SAVAHCS) in 2015, and a PGY2 Oncology Residency at Baptist Hospital of Miami in 2016. She has extensive experience in autologous and allogeneic stem cell transplant at another health-system for 3 years and returned to BHSF to help build the rapidly growing blood and marrow transplant and cellular therapy program. Lela has special interest in immunology and enjoys serving as a preceptor to both students and residents.

    Elizabeth Jackson, Pharm.D., BCOP is currently a Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at Miami Cancer Institute (MCI), Baptist Health South Florida since April 2019. She completed her Doctor of Pharmacy degree at Temple University School of Pharmacy in 2010. Then, she pursued post-doctoral training which led to the completion of a PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency at James J. Peters VA Medical Center (Bronx, NY) and PGY2 Oncology Pharmacy residency at Providence Alaska Medical Center (Anchorage, AK). Dr. Jackson became a board-certified oncology pharmacist in 2013. Prior to joining MCI, she was a Clinical Pharmacist at Providence Alaska Medical Center (Infusion Center Pharmacy) for 6.5 years. Upon joining MCI, Dr. Jackson served as one of the Clinical Pharmacy Specialists for Malignant Hematology/Oncology and Bone Marrow Transplant. In addition, she was the BMT ambulatory infusion unit pharmacist. In May 2021, she joined the Gynecology Oncology clinic as the clinical pharmacy specialist.     Dina Dumercy McHenry, Pharm.D., BCOP, MBA, CSSGB is the Director of Pharmacy at the Miami Cancer Institute. She received her Doctorate of Pharmacy from Florida A & M University and completed a Pharmacy Practice Residency with a focus in Oncology at Jackson Memorial Hospital/ FAMU. After her residency she completed an ASHP Oncology Patient Care Traineeship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. She has over 15 years of experience practicing in Oncology. In 2022 she obtained a Master's in Business Administration at the Louisiana State University. She currently serves as the co-chair of the MCI Oncology P&T Committee and is a former program director for a post graduate year 2(PGY2) residency who achieved ASHP accreditation within that programs first year. She is an active member of several professional and civic organizations including Hematology Oncology Pharmacist Association (HOPA), Florida Society of Clinical Oncology (FLASCO) Board of Directors, and American Society of Health-system Pharmacy (ASHP) at the local and national level. She received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Puerto Rico (UPR) in 2014. Dr. Ramos also completed a Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry at the UPR and her thesis was on warfarin pharmacogenomics. She completed her pharmacy practice residency training at Miami Veterans Administration Medical Center (VAMC) with a specialty in Health System Pharmacy Administration. Prior to joining Baptist Health South Florida, she worked as Enterprise Pharmacy Clinical Coordinator at Cancer Treatment Centers of America and as a Medical Science Liaison at Eli Lilly. From 2019 to 2021 she served as the Medication Safety and Quality Clinical Coordinator at the Miami Cancer Institute, where she monitored, evaluated and collaborated with multidisciplinary teams to prevent medication incidents in the Ambulatory, Inpatient, Research and Specialty Pharmacy Oncology settings. Dr. Tadros received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2018 from Nova Southeastern University where she graduated with Highest Honors. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy practice residency with Baptist Hospital of Miami and a PGY2 oncology residency with Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Tadros has a strong interest in teaching and precepting, having completed a teaching certificate through Nova Southeastern University’s ITALICSRx program, presented oncology lectures at Palm Beach Atlantic University School of Pharmacy as Adjunct Clinical Professor, and is a Courtesy Clinical Assistant Professor with the University of Florida. Dr. Tadros precepts students and residents on the ambulatory hematology rotation and is proud to have been awarded MCI‘s PGY2 Oncology Residency Preceptor of the Year award in 2021 and again in 2023. Dr. Tadros is an active member of several professional organizations including HOPA and FLASCO and is avidly involved in Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity, Inc. where she has served as a past Satrap (President) of the Southeast Province and continues to serve on various regional and inernational committees.

In July of 2018, Dr. Van Ostran joined the Miami Cancer Institute pharmacy team and is currently working as a clinical specialist where she is an integral part of the medical oncology team.     Frank Nyanin, Pharm.D., BCPS, BCOP graduated from Bernard J. Dunn School of Pharmacy – Shenandoah University in 2020. Dr. Nyanin completed his PGY1 residency program at Sentara RMH in Harrisonburg, VA followed by PGY2 residency training at Miami cancer institute, Baptist Health South Florida. After completing his residencies, Dr. Nyanin accepted a position as an in-patient clinical pharmacy specialist in medical oncology at Miami cancer institute, Baptist Health South Florida. Dr. Nyanin is very passionate about providing care for oncology patients and working with resident and students.

    Pharmacy Operations Supervisor

    Ernesto Perez, Pharm.D. is the Operations Supervisor at Miami Cancer Institute. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Biology and Forensic Chemistry at Florida International University before completing his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Nova Southeastern University in 2016. After completing a PGY1 Pharmacy Residency at Boca Raton Regional Hospital in, he joined the clinical pharmacist team at Baptist Hospital in 2017. Dr. Perez now helps oversee operations at Miami Cancer Institute and its satellite infusion sites and serves as preceptor for Oncology Pharmacy Operations.

    Mayret Gonzalez, Pharm.D, BCPS, BCOP practices as the clinical pharmacy specialist in Cardio-Oncology and Genitourinary clinics at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Gonzalez received her Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2018 from Nova Southeastern University. She completed a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Homestead Hospital, within Baptist Health South Florida. She is an adjunct professor at Larkin University where she teaches Arrhythmia Pathophysiology and Pharmacotherapy lectures. She is currently an active member of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP), the International Cardio-Oncology Society (ICOS), and the ICOS Pharmacy Working Group.

    Khurrum Qureshi, Pharm.D, BCOP practices as the clinical pharmacy specialist in the head & neck, thoracic, skin and endocrine oncology at the Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Qureshi received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2019 from the University of Florida. He later returned to his hometown of Miami to complete a PGY1 pharmacy residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and PGY2 oncology pharmacy residency at Baptist Hospital of Miami and Miami Cancer Institute. He enjoys teaching at all levels of pharmacy education including precepting students and residents as well as presenting to healthcare professionals at local and national conferences. He is currently an active member of American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) and Hematology Oncology Pharmacy Association (HOPA).
