Before Your Visit

Our multilingual staff is specially trained to assist you with your medical and travel preparations. From your first contact, you will have a designated personal liaison who will help to gather your records and provide you with the guidance you require to make informed decisions concerning your healthcare.

It is important that you bring as much information as possible when traveling to South Florida for medical care. Recommended documentation includes:

Updated copies of your complete medical records, including results of all recent tests and your treating physician's medical history report.

  • A complete list of any medications you are currently taking.
  • Names, addresses and phone numbers of all your in-country treating physicians.
  • Updated passport and applicable visas.

During Your Visit

When you arrive in South Florida, your designated coordinator will be here every step of the way to assist you with scheduling all of your medical appointments, including hospital admissions, outpatient testing and physician consultations. Your coordinator will do everything possible to make sure your stay in South Florida goes smoothly.

After Your Visit

Upon request, our team will assist with financial arrangements and schedule medical follow-up visits as necessary. We will also send your medical records to your local physician(s).

General Questions

  • Baptist Health International will coordinate air and ground ambulance transfers, if needed, and will provide transportation to and from our facilities for patients.   • Bring your photo identification, your health insurance card, a list of current medications and your medical records as well as all available films/images.

  • The Baptist Health International coordination of care team will provide you with financial counseling that includes securing insurance verification and pre-authorization (or quoting all-inclusive pricing for patients without insurance). We will also assist with payment arrangements.

  • Our multilingual staff will assist you with your language concerns. Interpretation services are also available if desired.

  • For an electronic second medical opinion from a Baptist Health physician, all you need to do is submit the medical records by express mail, or scan and email a copy of the films/images to be reviewed by a specialist.
