    • A school physical exam is a routine checkup that helps ensure your child’s overall health and well-being.

    • A sports physical, also known as a pre-participation exam (PPE), is a way for your healthcare provider to evaluate and assess your athlete’s physical fitness prior to taking part in a sport.

      Please note, at this time the West Boca and Wellington Urgent Care Express locations do not offer sports physicals.

    • The requirements for a school physical may be different, depending on your child’s school. Often, the school will supply a standard school physical form for you to bring to your appointment. If you are unsure, ask your school administrator for more details.

    • Sports physicals -- or pre-participation physicals -- can help identify and address any health concerns that student athletes may have, so they can safely take part in sports.

    • Your child may or may not need a separate school physical and sports physical, depending on where they attend school. Ask your school administrator if they require a separate sports physical. You may also need a separate sports physical if your athlete is playing a sport not connected to their school.

    • A school physical exam is a routine checkup, which includes checking your child’s height, weight, growth and development. However, the exact requirements of a school physical can vary depending on the individual school requirements.
