What Women's Health Services do we offer at Baptist Health South Florida?

Our services cover a complete spectrum of women’s health concerns, including:

  • Maternity services, parent education classes, infertility treatment/reproductive medicine.
  • Specialized care for high-risk pregnancies and unborn babies, including fetal MRI.
  • Level II and III Neonatal Intensive Care Units and neonatal transport and surgical teams.
  • Umbilical Cord Blood Collection Centers allow parents to donate their newborn’s cord blood for use in treating more than 70 blood diseases.
  • Child Development Center to evaluate and treat infants and children as they grow and develop.
  • Healthy lifestyle services, including bariatric surgery and cosmetic surgery.
  • Diagnostic testing, including MRI, PET/CT, ultrasound, X-ray, coronary artery imaging and bone density testing.
  • Pelvic Health services to diagnose and treat bladder problems.
  • Breast health diagnosis with digital mammography, ultrasound and biopsies, as well as treatments for breast conditions and breast cancer, including surgery, reconstruction and radiation.
  • Gynecological services, including minimally invasive robotic surgery to treat fibroids and certain cancers.
  • Sports Medicine services, including the latest technology in orthopedic care, comprehensive rehabilitation programs and minimally invasive joint replacements.
  • Women’s Heart Program evaluates blood pressure, cholesterol and body mass index to create a cardiovascular health profile.

Here's a handy guide you can use at every stage of your life. The information in this chart is only a general guideline. Your doctor will personalize the timing of all exams to meet your healthcare needs.

Ages 18-39

  • Pap test every 3 years beginning at age 21
  • Blood pressure test every 3-5 years following normal blood pressure and with no other risk factors
  • Breast exam every 3 years beginning in early 20s
  • Monthly breast self-exam; discuss with doctor
  • Blood glucose test if directed by doctor

Ages 40-49

  • Pap test every 3 years
  • Blood pressure test yearly
  • Breast exam and mammogram yearly
  • Blood glucose test every 3 years beginning at age 45

Ages 50-64

  • Pap test every 3 years
  • Blood pressure test yearly
  • Breast exam yearly
  • Mammogram every 2 years
  • Blood glucose test every 3 years
  • Colorectal screening; discuss with doctor

Ages 65 and Older

  • May stop Pap tests following 3 normal tests in a 10-year period
  • Blood pressure test yearly
  • Breast exam yearly
  • Mammogram every 2 years
  • Blood glucose test every 3 years
  • Colorectal screening; discuss with doctor if older than 75
